At Kew Primary School there are four houses, each named after specific aboriginal words:

• Allunga - the sun (Red)
• Turaku - a comet (Green)
• Kalban - a star (Yellow)
• Jannali - the moon (Blue)

Every year two House Captains and two Vice Captains are elected by their peers. Students wishing to be nominated deliver a short speech to years 3-6, who vote for the person they believe would best represent their house.'

The leadership team are involved in many activities including assisting at Junior Athletics Day, supporting lunch time activities on the oval and promoting a healthy lunch day.
