Virtual Tour
Education for Today and Tomorrow
At Kew Primary School we provide learning experiences for students to further understand themselves as learners and investigate the world in which they live, in order for them to become active and responsible citizens in the 21st Century. Learning and Teaching experiences need to be learner centred, collaboratively organised and flexibly constructed. Education Today and TomorrowPro
Tour the school
Let us begin our tour at the foundation stone, in the hall opposite the office area. This stone was laid in 1871 as part of the original school building. Following an extensive refurbishment, it was relocated to its present site, adjacent to the main office area.

Proceed down the hall towards classrooms one and two. As you walk, you will see examples of the students' work on the noticeboards.

Around the buildings and grounds at Kew, one is constantly reminded of the history of the school. Just outside rooms one & two, we find the Great War Memorial, commissioned by the school community to commemorate former students who served in the First World War.

Head up the south stairs to the upstairs classrooms in the senior school building. An Artists in Schools grant enabled the school to employ a resident artist, who worked with the year six students to create this fantastic relief mural in the south stairwell of the senior school.

Descend the North stairs and visit the Art Room.

This is a roomy, fully-equipped facility which all students use on a weekly basis.
Both our senior and junior school buildings feature toilets inside the buildings, which adds to the safety of our students.
Kew Primary School features well-designed playground areas, a large shelter and a good-sized grassed and irrigated oval.

The Junior School building features large, airy classrooms built around a central hall. It was built in 1910 and retains the beautiful architectural features of the period, including extensive stained-glass windows and a timber-panelled roof.

The Kew Primary School Out of School Hours program offers care of students before and after school in a well-run and caring atmosphere.

Students are involved in sporting and out door activities, cooking, supervised homework and study sessions, chess, computers and a variety of other activities.

Our school canteen features state-of-the-art appliances and hygiene facilities.

Next to the Canteen is the Learning Resource Centre. In this environment students borrow library books and utilise the extensive ICT equipment.

The LRC is also open at lunchtimes for chess club and other activities.

Modern junior and senior playground facilities provide a safe, enjoyable means for students to play and exercise. Our recently refurbished Junior Playground has interesting places to explore with a variety of surfaces, levels and materials.

Our basketball court is surfaced with the latest synthetic grass. It looks great and is much safer than asphalt.

Garden Club is held every second Thursday for students who wish to join.

The Year 5 Learning Centre is a hub of activity involving digital learning including claymation, digital story telling, robotics and digital portfolios.
We hope you enjoyed your virtual tour.
