As part of their unit of inquiry, Sharing the Planet: Cycles Exist in the Natural World that Support Life, students went on an excursion to the Royal Botanic Gardens Melbourne. Through guided, hands-on learning with Botanic Gardens staff, students investigated how living things adapt in order to meet their basic needs, including food, shelter, pollination, fertilisation, and decomposition. Students gained understanding about how these interconnected processes support the survival of individual species and contribute to the overall health and balance of ecosystems.
