Wellbeing
Kew Primary School places a strong emphasis on the wellbeing of our students. We have been actively developing programs to embed and improve strategies to assist students with their emotional and social experiences.
We use the School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS) which involves a whole school behaviour matrix revolving around our CARE values;
Community
Achievement
Resilience
Empathy
These values help to provide a rich learning environment underpinned by positive relationships where individuals are valued and supported to realise their potential and become lifelong learners and responsible global citizens.
Kew Primary School is a proud leading school in the Resilience, Rights, and Respectful Relationships program (4Rs). This program explores social and emotional material once a week in the classroom, and aims to develop student’s social, emotional and positive relationship skills. The program has been shown to improve health-related outcomes and wellbeing, whilst also reducing antisocial behaviours.
