Year 5 Immigration Museum

Our Year 5 students recently stepped out of the classroom and into living history with an exciting excursion to the Immigration Museum!

The visit tied directly into their unit on government systems, giving students the chance to see how policy decisions have shaped Australia's story. From exploring the powerful stories behind the White Australia Policy to celebrating the vibrant multicultural nation we are today, students engaged with real artefacts, personal narratives, and interactive displays.

It was a hands-on way to understand how governments influence communities—and how everyday people have helped build the Australia we know. The students came back buzzing with questions, insights, and a deeper appreciation for our diverse national identity.
